Social acceptance “in my backyard” - What drives social acceptance of renewable energy projects?

Abstract This paper aims to present a general overview of the social acceptance wind energy developments in Europe and identify influential factors. First, we show levels for renewable (onshore wind) projects selected European countries how it varies across within countries. In addition, produce regional maps showing country variations indicators. Second, using an econometric model, study different factors influence levels. Our investigation assesses primary data from two comprehensive opinion surveys.
